Real Food:

Real food nourishes, sustains or supplies our body with what it needs to grow, repair, perform vital functions, create energy, etc.

- Fresh vegetables and fruits (non-GMO)

- Grains and legumes

- Nuts and seeds

- Organic, pastured meats, poultry and fish

Non-Foods: DON’T nourish, sustain or repair

- Processed snacks, e.g. chips, pretzels, candy

- Sugary cereals and drinks

- Processed meats, e.g. hot dogs, lunch meats

Our bodies recognize real food, and use it to perform the various daily functions without so much as a conscious thought from us. It does not recognize non-food, which is a concoction of chemicals, additives, preservatives, food colorings, synthetic sugars, etc. These substances do not nourish, repair, or help the body in any positive way.  In fact, these substances wreak havoc on our body systems creating free radicals and other toxic by-products.

What’s Your Relationship With Food: Why Do You Eat?

Most people don’t have a positive relationship with food. Many eat when stressed or troubled for comfort; others refrain from food for fear of gaining weight; and still others eat just because it’s there, it tastes good and sometimes because it’s free.

I’d like to offer you another perspective on food.  How about EAT TO LIVE rather than LIVE TO EAT!  It’s time to wake up and take control of our lives! The power is in our hands to control our destiny. The power is in our hands to teach our families how to be responsible and live stronger, healthier lives, eat real food and yes, have we can have dessert, too! The power is in Your Hands! But first, you must get the knowledge in your HEAD.

Here are a few things I will teach you:

Movement or exercise

The other part of this component is exercise. While it’s true you can lose weight without exercise, you can lose more weight and increase your strength and endurance if you exercise along with eating proper nutrition.

Here are only a few of the benefits of exercising:

  • Helps to control your weight

  • Improves your mood

  • Learn to set and achieve goals

  • Improves sleep

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Improves your cardiovascular system

  • Boosts your energy level

  • Increases your strength and flexibility

  • Increases your immunity; become less susceptible to diseases

  • Better focus

  • Live longer, stronger, healthier
