However, if we stay in a persistent state of stress we are constantly in this ‘flight or fight’ response which then wreaks havoc on our body systems, to include lowering our immunity, increasing blood pressure,  mental energy drain, imbalanced body/brain chemistries, even decreasing life span.  

 

Positive emotions and thoughts also affect our bodies. Positive emotions/thoughts lead to: emotional resilience, better recovery from injury, better sleep, increased resistance to illnesses, greater sense of well-being and contentment.

Restore your Balance

In the work we do, even if we work on a past memory, we want to deal with how it’s affecting you right now. We work with everything from anxiety, and anger and sadness from past things that happened, but we work on how it’s affecting your life right now, how you are experiencing that anxiety, anger, or sadness right now.  As we work with people who have PTSD, we will want to help them learn to take care of their current reactions to things that have happened in the past, so we can help them move into the future with greater health and happiness.

Coaching is about today and then it is about the future.  What I mean by that is if you have something bothering you as severe as PTSD or as mild as melancholy, low-grade depression or anger, we deal with how it’s affecting you NOW.  Once that’s taken care of, we can start working on your future or how you want things to be in the future. We can even address some of the things that you just didn’t feel you could do when you were dealing with those memories that were always coming up.
